Ambassador Lyu Jian's Keynote Speech at the International Seminar on "China-ASEAN Strategic Partnership: New Era, New Vision"

尊敬的外交部東盟司司長素里亞先生，

尊敬的法政大學(xué)副校長吉迪博士，

女士們，先生們，朋友們：

　　大家上午好！感謝吉迪博士的賀辭。首先，我謹(jǐn)代表中國駐泰國大使館，向參加本次研討會(huì)的各位學(xué)者和來賓表示熱烈歡迎，向共同主辦方泰國外交部和法政大學(xué)表示感謝，向長期以來支持和推動(dòng)中國—東盟關(guān)系發(fā)展的各界朋友們表示敬意！

Ladies and gentlemen, dear friends,

Good morning! Thank you, Dr. Kitti, for your opening remarks. First of all, I would like to express, on behalf of the Chinese Embassy in Thailand, a warm welcome to all the scholars and guests attending today's seminar, sincere gratitude to our co-hosts, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand and the Thammasat University, and respect for friends from all circles who have long been supporting and promoting China-ASEAN relations.

　　本次研討會(huì)的主題是“中國—東盟戰(zhàn)略伙伴關(guān)系：新時(shí)代，新愿景”，旨在于中國—東盟建立戰(zhàn)略伙伴關(guān)系15周年之際，汲取學(xué)術(shù)智慧，為雙方關(guān)系進(jìn)一步發(fā)展建言獻(xiàn)策。我愿借此機(jī)會(huì)，談?wù)剬?duì)中國—東盟關(guān)系發(fā)展的看法。

　　2017年，東盟慶祝了50歲生日。半個(gè)世紀(jì)以來，東盟積極探索并堅(jiān)持符合自身特點(diǎn)的發(fā)展道路，取得巨大成就。今天的東盟，已是擁有6.4億人口、經(jīng)濟(jì)總量接近2.6萬億美元的世界第六大經(jīng)濟(jì)體，不僅發(fā)展為世界上最成功的區(qū)域合作組織之一，更成為維護(hù)地區(qū)和平穩(wěn)定、促進(jìn)區(qū)域一體化和世界多極化的重要力量。

With the theme of "China-ASEAN Strategic Partnership: New Era, New Vision", the seminar is aimed at pooling academic wisdom and offering suggestions for the further development of China-ASEAN relations on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the establishment of China-ASEAN Strategic Partnership. I would like to take this opportunity to talk about the development of China-ASEAN relations.

ASEAN celebrated its 50th birthday in 2017. Over the past half a century, ASEAN has made active efforts to explore and follow the development path that suits itself, and has made remarkable progress. Today's ASEAN is the sixth largest economy in the world with a population of 640 million people and a nearly US$2.6 trillion economy. It has not only developed into one of the most successful regional cooperation organizations in the world, but also an important force upholding regional peace and stability, and promoting regional integration and world multi-polarization.
