20年來，兩國在國際事務(wù)中開展了密切合作。作為發(fā)展中國家，中湯雙方在許多重大國際和地區(qū)問題上持有相同的立場。我們都反對(duì)霸權(quán)主義、強(qiáng)權(quán)政治和單邊主義，都致力于推動(dòng)建立合作共贏的新型國際關(guān)系和公正合理的全球治理體系。在南太地區(qū)事務(wù)中，作為對(duì)話合作伙伴，我們兩國都致力于促進(jìn)地區(qū)和平與穩(wěn)定，攜手應(yīng)對(duì)氣候變化和自然災(zāi)害帶來的挑戰(zhàn)，維護(hù)海洋生態(tài)和海洋安全。中方高度贊賞湯加政府支持習(xí)近平主席提出的構(gòu)建人類命運(yùn)共同體構(gòu)想，真誠歡迎湯方參與共建“一帶一路”倡議，相信這個(gè)大的合作平臺(tái)必將為湯加國家發(fā)展帶來更多機(jī)遇。

Over the 20 years, we have conducted close collaboration in the international affairs. Both being developing countries, China and Tonga share common positions on many major international and regional issues. We both oppose hegemonism, power politics and unilateralism. We are both committed to pushing for the building of a new type of international relations of win-win cooperation and a fair and equitable global governance system. In the affairs of the South Pacific region, as dialogue and cooperation partners, both countries are committed to promoting regional peace and stability, jointly meeting the challenges of climate change and natural disasters and safeguarding the marine ecology and security. China highly appreciates the Tongan Government's supporting the concept of Building Community of Shared Future for Mankind put forward by President Xi Jinping, and sincerely welcomes Tonga's participation in jointly building the Belt and Road Initiative. Rest assured this big platform will bring more opportunities to the national development of Tonga.

　　中國有句諺語，“路遙知馬力、日久見人心”。經(jīng)過20年的發(fā)展，中湯關(guān)系站在了新的歷史起點(diǎn)上?；仡欉^去，我們對(duì)兩國的合作成果感到自豪；展望未來，我們對(duì)兩國關(guān)系的美好前景充滿信心。

Ladies, gentlemen and friends,

As a Chinese proverb goes, A distant journey tests the strength of a horse and a long task proves the character of a man. After 20 years development, China-Tonga relations are standing at a new historic starting point. Recalling the past, we are proud of the fruits of bilateral cooperation; looking into the future, we are full of confidence in the prospect of our relations.

　　著眼下一個(gè)20年，進(jìn)一步加強(qiáng)中湯關(guān)系是兩國政府和兩國人民的共同愿望。中方期待同湯方一道，以建交20周年為契機(jī)，堅(jiān)持相互尊重、平等相待，繼續(xù)積極落實(shí)兩國元首達(dá)成的重要共識(shí)，加強(qiáng)各領(lǐng)域交往與合作，推動(dòng)中湯戰(zhàn)略伙伴關(guān)系持續(xù)深入發(fā)展，更好地造福兩國人民，并共同為南太地區(qū)的發(fā)展繁榮作出更大貢獻(xiàn)。

Keeping the next 20 years in mind, further strengthening the relations is the common wishes of our Governments and peoples. Taking the opportunity of the 20th anniversary, following the principle of mutual respect and treating each other as equals, the Chinese side looks forward to working with the Tongan side to continuously and actively implement the important consensus reached by the two Heads of State, and further enhance exchanges and cooperation in various fields. We will firmly push for the in-depth development of the China-Tonga Strategic Partnership, bring more benefits to our two peoples and jointly make greater contribution to the development and prosperity of the South Pacific region.

In conclusion, I'd like to propose a toast,

To the health of Their Majesties King Tupou VI and Queen Nanasipauu and all the distinguished guests,

To the greater development of China-Tonga relations in the future,
