20年來，兩國(guó)互利合作不斷深化。在政府發(fā)展合作領(lǐng)域，根據(jù)湯方要求和國(guó)家建設(shè)需要，中方不附加任何政治條件，持續(xù)向湯加提供發(fā)展援助。中方迄今在湯加實(shí)施了8期農(nóng)業(yè)技術(shù)合作項(xiàng)目，幫助湯加建設(shè)了會(huì)議中心、道路橋梁、學(xué)校校舍、保健中心等基礎(chǔ)設(shè)施，幫助恢復(fù)重建了首都商務(wù)中心區(qū)。我們高興地看到，去年投入使用的湯加政府綜合辦公樓運(yùn)轉(zhuǎn)良好，期待著湯加高中體育場(chǎng)館項(xiàng)目和風(fēng)電項(xiàng)目早日開工。在商業(yè)合作領(lǐng)域，中國(guó)私人企業(yè)投資的太陽(yáng)能電站去年并網(wǎng)發(fā)電，并正在湯加開展海產(chǎn)品養(yǎng)殖。中方歡迎湯方積極參加即將在上海舉行的首屆國(guó)際進(jìn)口博覽會(huì)，相信以此為契機(jī)，湯方不僅可以增加對(duì)華出口南瓜，而且可以向中國(guó)出口更多的其他特色產(chǎn)品。

Over the 20 years, our mutually beneficial cooperation have been deepening. In the area of governmental development cooperation, at the request of Tonga and according to its national development need, China has been providing development assistance to Tonga without any political conditions attached. So far, China has implemented 8 phases of Agricultural and Technical Cooperation Projects, helped Tonga build the Conference Center, roads and bridge, school houses, health centers and other infrastructure facilities, aided in the reconstruction of CBD of Nuku'alofa. We are very pleased to see that the St. George Government Building commissioned last year operates very well. We look forward to the Tonga High School Sports Facility Project and the Wind-Power Project starting construction at an early date. In the area of commercial cooperation, the solar power project invested by a private Chinese company was connected to the grid last year and is contributing to Tonga's clean energy strategy while other Chinese investors are engaged in sea farming. China welcomes Tonga's active participation in the upcoming First International Import Expo to be held in Shanghai in a couple of days. We believe that taking this opportunity, Tonga will not only increase its export of squash to China, but also export more other featured produces to China.

　　20年來，兩國(guó)人文交流不斷擴(kuò)大。2016年，雙方簽署了互免持外交、公務(wù)、普通護(hù)照人員簽證協(xié)定，極大地便利了兩國(guó)人員往來。在教育和人員培訓(xùn)方面，中方為湯方提供了約250個(gè)政府獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金，為900多人進(jìn)行了各類培訓(xùn)。兩國(guó)多次互派文藝團(tuán)組，增進(jìn)了對(duì)彼此特色文化的了解。湯中友協(xié)和湯加留華同學(xué)會(huì)也已成為兩國(guó)民間交往的重要紐帶。在地方交往方面，中國(guó)寧夏回族自治區(qū)同湯加瓦瓦烏島建立了友好關(guān)系，我們期待著廣東省東莞市和湯加哈派島之間的友好關(guān)系很快得到批準(zhǔn)。尤其是廣東省作為中國(guó)最發(fā)達(dá)的省份之一，多年來為湯加基礎(chǔ)設(shè)施建設(shè)和民生改善提供了大量援助。

Over the 20 years, our people-to-people exchanges have kept expanding. In 2016, China and Tonga signed agreement on mutual visa exemption for the holders of diplomatic, service and ordinary passports, which has greatly facilitated bilateral personnel exchanges. In the area of education and personnel training, China has provided about 250 government scholarships to Tonga and offered various training courses for over 900 Tongan people. Our two countries have sent cultural groups for mutual visits many times and increased understanding of each others' unique cultures. The Tong-China Friendship Association and Tonga-China Students Alumni Association have also become important bond for the non-governmental contacts. At the local-level exchanges, China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region and Vava'u Islands of Tonga have established friendly relationship, and we are looking forward to the early approval of the friendly relationship between Dongguan City of Guangdong Province and Ha'apai Islands. As a matter fact, Guangdong Province as one of the most developed provinces of China, has provided a big amount of assistance for the construction of infrastructure and improvement of people's livelihood of Tonga.
