在英漢互譯中，要考慮英語和漢語各自的靜態(tài)和動(dòng)態(tài)修辭的特點(diǎn)，發(fā)揮譯語的優(yōu)勢(shì)。英譯漢的過程常常是發(fā)揮動(dòng)詞優(yōu)勢(shì)、強(qiáng)化動(dòng)態(tài)色彩的過程。如：

上述各例的英文句子充分發(fā)揮了名詞的優(yōu)勢(shì)，相應(yīng)的漢語句子則發(fā)揮動(dòng)詞的優(yōu)勢(shì)，使句子呈現(xiàn)出動(dòng)態(tài)色彩。漢譯英的過程和英譯漢相反，常常是一個(gè)發(fā)揮名詞和介詞的優(yōu)勢(shì)，突出靜態(tài)色彩的過程：

他在電話中談起來沒完沒了。

His telephone conversation seemed endless.

他計(jì)劃不周，把錢都浪費(fèi)了。

Poor planning wasted all his money.
