牛眼睛；問題的關(guān)鍵

【文化說明】射擊運(yùn)動使用的靶子，其中心往往有個圓心，看上去像只牛眼。靶子的核心部位，一旦射中，便獲得優(yōu)勝。一個問題通常也有一個關(guān)鍵，找到它進(jìn)行相應(yīng)處理，問題就可以迎刃而解，就像射中了靶心一樣。因此bull's eye轉(zhuǎn)喻“問題的關(guān)鍵”，常用在習(xí)語hit the bull's eye和make (or score) a bull's eye中。

【文化說明】bull's eye喻指“目標(biāo)，問題的關(guān)鍵”，hit the bull's eye的喻義顯然是 “正中要害”，進(jìn)而引申喻指“作出成功的判斷、選擇”和“大獲成功”。其中動詞可換用make和score，bull's-eye中間的連字符可以省去，定冠詞the也可用不定冠詞a替代。

【文化說明】《伊索寓言》中一頭公牛闖進(jìn)陶器店，打破了所有的陶器。公牛身體笨重， 闖進(jìn)瓷器店，一轉(zhuǎn)身一回頭都會碰壞瓷器。這樣的場景，自然是喻指“魯莽笨拙的人在微妙的場合大闖其禍”。19世紀(jì)早期，英國漫畫家利用這個故事畫了一幅漫畫，諷刺阿默斯特勛爵（Lord Amherst）到中國商討發(fā)展貿(mào)易卻無功而返的事情。畫家把這幅漫取名為 a bull in a china shop, bull是雙關(guān)語，除了指“公牛”，還指英國人（John Bull），而china則既可指中國，也可指瓷器。
